How do I obtain a copy of a police report?
Copies of police reports (for example a report for the motor vehicle accident that you had) are generally available by the end of the first full business day after the report was taken although it is a good idea to call ahead to make sure it is available. The reports are available at the Records Division of the Sheriff's Office temporarily located at the Ontario County Jail at 3045 County Complex Dr. in the Town of Hopewell. The direct phone number to the records office is (585) 396-4618.
