The census is a count of every person who lives in the United States and its territories. It happens every 10 years. In early 2020, you will be asked to count everyone who lives in your home as of April 1. Responding to the 2020 Census is a chance to shape your future.
The census can shape many different aspects of your community. Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. The results determine how many seats in Congress each state gets. FInally, it’s mandated by the U.S. Constitution in Article 1, Section 2: The U.S. has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.
Property - will be collected and held at the police agency who is investigating the death. In some cases property will be held and will fall under the jurisdiction of the Ontario County Treasurer’s Office.

With the exception of questions related to the County website and OnCor, Information Technology support is not available to County residents. Referral to the County Planning Board requires a “full statement of proposed action.” Current NYS General Municipal Law Section 239-m 1(c) defines full statement of such proposed action as “all materials required by and submitted to the referring body as an application on a proposed action, including a completed environmental assessment form and all other materials required by such referring body in order to make its determination of significance pursuant to the state environmental quality review act under article eight of the environmental conservation law and its implementing regulations. When the proposed action referred is the adoption or amendment of a zoning ordinance or local law, “full statement of such proposed action” shall also include the complete text of the proposed ordinance or local law as well as all existing provisions to be affected thereby, if any, if not already in the possession of the county planning agency or regional planning council. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this paragraph, any referring body may agree with the county planning agency or regional planning council as to what shall constitute a “full statement” for any or all of those proposed actions which said referring body is authorized to act upon.”

Because the application consolidates a huge amount of information, it will take quite a while to generate the report of features on the defined site or in the buffer area.
In Counties and Towns with populations the size of those here in Ontario County, Section 1622 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law gives the power to set speed limits on all roads outside of villages and cities to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT). If an individual wishes to have a speed limit changed on a Town, County or State Road, they must first submit a request to their Town Board. Some individuals send along a petition signed by other residents along the road. If the Town Board wishes that the speed limit be reviewed it first must pass a resolution requesting that the State conduct the review. The Town Clerk then sends a certified copy of the resolution with the appropriate NYSDOT form to the County Highway Superintendent for County review and forwarding to the NYSDOT. When the State review is complete, the Town is notified of the results. It usually takes several months for NYSDOT to complete their review. The appropriate municipality then installs the proper traffic signs if a change in speed limit is approved by the NYSDOT. Village Boards and City Councils have the power to establish speed limits on their streets. The County cannot, by itself, request review of a speed limit.
The County has no power to establish no parking zones on any road. Individuals wishing to have a "No Parking" zone established on a Town or County highway should go to their Town Board. Section 1660(a) of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law gives Town Boards the power to establish these zones on Town and County Highways. Once a Town Board designates a no parking zone on a portion of a Town or County road and the proper signs are erected by the Town Highway Department, the no parking requirement can be enforced. The Town needs State approval for no parking zones on State Highways.

If your complaint is in regards to the person(s) you spoke to on the phone, please call the appropriate NON-emergency number and ask to speak to the supervisor on duty . Yes. Inmates in all housing have access to telephones daily. Hours of telephone use depend upon the inmate's housing assignment and/or behavioral status. Security and support staff cannot deliver or pass messages from home to inmates in the facility. Inmates are able to make outgoing telephone calls only. The inmate telephone system does not allow incoming telephone calls.

Volunteers are needed to assist Inmates with Life Skills and Community Transition. Some examples or need are; Art or Music therapy, Book Club, Access to Community Resources, Practice Interviewing, Spanish Culture and Goal Setting. If you have the experience, training, or feel you have the drive to help others, download and complete the (Volunteer packet and return it to the address as indicated. From Geneva If you are coming from Geneva take State Route 5/US Route 20, west to County Road 47, approximately 8.5 miles from Ponderosa. Turn right on County Road 47 (sign for Hopewell Center) and travel for approximately 1.7 miles then turn left on County Road 46 (first left hand turn). Take County Road 46 for approximately 1.5 miles and County Complex Dr. will be on your left, turn in here and the Jail will be your second turn to the left.
From CanandaiguaTake State Route 5/US Route 20, east (also known as Eastern Blvd) to County Road 10 (Community Bank on the corner). Turn left on County Road 10, travel for approximately 0.8 miles to the flashing red light at County Road 46. Turn right on County Road 46 and travel approximately 1.5 miles and County Complex Dr. will be on your right, turn in here and the Jail will be your second turn to the left.
You can now bail a person out online, over the phone or in person. Bailing someone out on line: go to www.GovPayNow.com. Over the phone: 1-877-EZBAIL5 (1-877-392-2455) You will need the inmate’s criminal history number, bail amount, date of birth, court and judge information and pay location code (1996). You can obtain this information by calling the Ontario County Jail at 396-1800. Bailing someone out in person: 1) You must come to the jail lobby with photo identification (i.e. Drivers License) and payment 2) Bail is accepted in the form of cash or credit/debit card or combination of both 3) Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover cards are accepted 4) If paying by credit card, you will be charged a non-refundable 9% service fee thru GovPayNet who handles the credit card transaction 5) Only the card holder may use the credit/debit card, no lending of cards will be allowed When you arrive at the jail you will be asked for your photo identification, name, address, employer/occupation, phone number and form of payment. If paying by credit card, your card will then be swiped thru the credit/debt card reader and the information on your card will be verified against your photo identification.
1) Save the bail receipt. (treat the receipt like cash)
2) The bail money will be released to the individual that paid the bail after the case has concluded. (This could take several months or longer.)
3) When the case has concluded, take the bail receipt to the court listed on the receipt. (Do not come to the jail, we do not have the ability to return bail money to you.)
4) The court will retain 3% of the bail that was paid, and return the remainder to you. (This is in addition to the 9% surcharge if paid by Credit Card)
