Blue Green Algae

Blue green algae has been detected on Honeoye Lake. Exposure to algal blooms can cause adverse health effects. Residents are advised to avoid contact with blooms by not swimming, boating, jet skiing or bathing in water where the bloom is present. It is also advised to keep pets away from bloom exposure.
