NextStepU is both a college and career planning website and community learning center based out of Victor, N.Y. In 1996, David Mammano started NextStepU in Victor as a print magazine, which helped high school students across the country prepare for college. By the time the print magazine retired last year, it was being utilized in 22,000 high schools across the nation. In 2013, the print magazine moved completely into the digital landscape at www.nextstepu.com. The NextStepU headquarters at 2 W. Main St. in Victor currently employs 10 people and the team recently won a Rochester Business Journal Best of the Web Award for their digital transformation.

In March, the company expanded to include the NextStepU Center, also in Victor, where both students and professionals can take classes and seminars to prepare for the next step in their lives. Whether it is college, a career change, financial planning or a better understanding today's technological world, NextStepU offers assistance. The Center offers a Core Curriculum for college preparation that can be taught in small groups or one on one.

The NextStepU Center also offers free classes throughout the summer that are taught by professionals in the community. Session topics will include “Thriving after College: How to Land the Job That's Right for You" and "Job Networking: Right Message. Right Place. Right Time."
